Release of Student Records Student Life
When requesting information or copies of documents held by a Student Life Department that are part of one’s own educational record, an individual (i.e. a current student or former student) must submit their request either:
- In-person at the Office of Student Life (STC 203) by presenting a valid photo ID.
- By sending an email to studentlifedean@sunywcc.edu from their official WCC email address
- By sending an email to studentlifedean@sunywcc.edu from a non-WCC email address that includes the following information:
- Legal Name
- MyWCC ID Number
- Last Four Digits of the Social Security Number
- Birthday (MM/DD/YYYY)
- Scanned Copy of Driver’s License
Instructions:
When making a request, the individual must include the exact documentation or information they are requesting be released. Documents will be scanned and sent to the student via email. Any identifiable information regarding another student will be blacked out.
If an individual wants to grant a specified third-party access to information or documentation in their educational record, they must complete the FERPA Release Form in its entirety. This form can be found by visiting: https://www.sunywcc.edu/admissions/registering-for-classes/ferpa/. These forms must be notarized by a Notary Public and submitted to either the Registrar’s Office in the Administration Building, Room 107.
In certain instances, the College will accept signed releases from outside organizations for information or documentation related to a student’s educational record. Documents accepted will be made at the discretion of the Associate Dean of Student Life or designee and must have a student’s original signature.
