New and Transfer Student Orientation: Family Orientation - click to open for details
Family Orientation
In addition to the New and Transfer Student Orientation for all first-time, full-time, new, and transfer students, we have developed Family Orientation as an optional experience for the family members (parents, guardians, relatives, partners, etc.) of SUNY WCC students. This experience allows family members the opportunity to learn more about what services, supports and opportunities are available to their students. It is also an excellent time to gain a stronger understanding of some of the new responsibilities and challenges their students may encounter.
Family Orientation is a formal and panel-centered discussion that grants the family members of SUNY WCC students an abundance of information regarding the support of their students, the availability of valuable college resources, and the overall student experience.Upcoming Orientation Sessions:
- Tuesday, August 20, 2024, from 6:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m. There will be two Family Orientation programs offered in either English or Spanish.
If a family member is planning to attend, please register them upon registering yourself.
NOTE: Attendance at Family Orientation does not meet the Orientation requirement as it is a distinct experience to New and Transfer Student Orientation.
Registration:
Registration for Family Orientation is done by completing the New and Transfer Student Orientation registration form. Visit www.sunywcc.edu/new-student-orientation to access the form.
If you have any questions regarding Family Orientation, please contact the Department of Student Involvement via getinvolved@sunywcc.edu and we will be happy to assist you.
