Graduating Student and Transfer Scholarships
Graduating Student Scholarships are offered through the Westchester Community College Foundation as well as transfer scholarships offered by some local four-year colleges and universities.

WCC Foundation Graduating Scholarships

The Westchester Community College Foundation distributes $3 million in scholarships each year. This includes awards for students who graduate from WCC and plan to transfer on to complete a higher degree.
Eligibility Requirements for Foundation Graduating Scholarships:

- Graduated in August 2023, December 2023, or on track to graduate in May 2024.
- Transferred, or plan to transfer to a four-year college or university for the upcoming Fall of 2024 and attend full time.
- Current cumulative GPA of 3.0 or higher.
- Have not previously completed a Bachelor’s Degree.
To Apply for a Foundation Graduating Scholarship be prepared to share your personal experience with any campus involvement programs/clubs/activities, community service, and career goals.
Scholarship decisions are sent to your email in late May 2024.

College Specific Transfer Scholarships

The following colleges offer scholarships to a limited number of transfer WCC students.
- Mercy University: Two full tuition scholarships, one for a Liberal Arts major and one for Business major
- Pace University: Two full tuition scholarships, one for a Liberal Arts major and one for Business major
- Fordham University: One $10,0000 scholarship
Eligibility Requirements For College Specific Transfer Scholarships

- Current cumulative GPA of 3.25 or higher
- Graduated in August, or December and have not enrolled at a four-year college or university or on track to graduate in May of the current year.
- Plan to attend full-time for the Fall 2024 semester. (If you graduated in August or December and transferred for the spring semester, you are not eligible for these scholarships)
- Have not previously completed a Bachelor’s Degree

Personal Development Award (PDA) Scholarships

The Greta Cohan Personal Development Award was established over 35 years ago to honor this well-loved professor’s deep commitment to her students. These awards recognize students who have overcome varied challenges and whose lives have been transformed by attendance at WCC.
Selection of recipients will be based on a personal essay that exhibits how Westchester Community College has fostered the achievement of qualities such as, personal growth, joy of learning, emotional maturity, and perseverance. Students will be required to attend an Awards ceremony for the final selection of applicants, scheduled for late April.
NOTE: PDA recipients will also be eligible for other graduating awards
Eligibility Requirements:
- December 2023, May/August 2024 graduate
- Write an essay (minimum of 500 words) on “How Westchester Community College Has Changed My Life.”
- Provide the name of WCC faculty member, counselor, or staff member from whom you have requested a letter of recommendation. The letter must be sent directly to the PDA scholarship committee by email to Barbara.connolly@sunywcc.edu or by interoffice mail to the attention of Professor Barbara Connolly, Classroom Building Room 33.
