Agreement Highlights
- Students must graduate from Westchester Community College.
- Employees of Westchester Community College are eligible.
- Upon completion of the WCC Associate degrees listed below, students are guaranteed admission to Excelsior College and will transfer with junior standing. The nursing program at Excelsior College also requires validation of an RN license to be accepted.
- Minimum grade requirement of C or better in courses is required for transferability.
- A maximum of 90 lower-level credits or 117 credits (inclusive of upper level transfer credit) may be transferred in toward the completion of outlined degrees below. A student must complete a total of 12 credits at Excelsior College in order to qualify for partnership pricing. Upon graduating from WCC, check with an Excelsior representative for details.
- Partnership pricing is available to students and WCC employees who participate in this agreement.
Special Concurrent Enrollment Plan for Nursing Students
Under the following conditions, students are eligible to apply for the Concurrent Enrollment Program in Nursing at Excelsior College:
- WCC students must be officially enrolled and registered in the Nursing, A.A.S. at all times and maintain in good academic standing.
- WCC students must have a minimum of one semester left in their A.A.S. degree to be eligible.
- The following WCC courses must be passed with a C or better:
- ENG 101, Writing and Research
- BIOL 121, Anatomy and Physiology I
- BIOL 123, Anatomy and Physiology II
- BIOL 221, General Microbiology I and Lab
Upon completion of the above courses, students have additional coursework to complete (many of which can be completed at WCC), prior to taking Excelsior’s Nursing Core Component courses concurrently while at WCC. The financial aid consortium agreement allows for a student’s financial aid to be allocated appropriately between the two institutions.
