The Great Books Discussion Forum and the Black History Month committee present three outstanding books that highlight the Association for the Study of African American Life & History’s national theme for this year: African Americans & the Arts.
Join us and Prof. Shinelle Espaillat as we kick off our discussion with our first book The Secret Lives of Church Ladies written by Deesha Philyaw. Description of The Secret Lives of Church Ladies “[E]xplores the raw and tender places where Black women and girls dare to follow their desires and pursue a momentary reprieve from being good.”
