About the Artist
Shoshanna Weinberger’s art presents a vivid exploration of her Caribbean-American roots and the complex layers of identity. Her artwork, including drawings, mixed media, and installations, delves into her personal experience of race and identity. Weinberger, seeing herself as a ‘visual anthropologist,’ uses her art to examine the representation of marginalized bodies and narratives of otherness. This exhibition is an invitation for introspection. It encourages viewers to engage with and reflect upon their own identities, their perceptions of beauty, and how these are shaped and reshaped by societal norms and personal experiences. Weinberger’s work serves as a catalyst for a deeper understanding of the complex tapestry of identity in contemporary culture.
