Introduction to Manufacturing
This non-credit course will provide introductory level knowledge of safety, personal protection, machine guarding, precision measurement, job planning, benchwork and layout. Upon successful completion, participants will be eligible to take the industry recognized National Institute for Metalworking Skills (NIMS) Certifications in Measurement, Materials, and Safety and Job Planning, Benchwork and Layout. 63 hours.

Introduction to Manual Machine Lathe and Turning Operations
This class is intended for entry-level turning operators and / or students in a turning operator training program who have a basic understanding of turning machines and their operation. In this course, students will become familiar with the fundamentals of manual lathe machines, spindle speeds, feed rates and tools for centerline machining such as twist drills, taps and reamers.
Whether operating a manual machine or programming a CNC machine, operators need to master these fundamental skills to produce high-quality parts and avoid catastrophic failures. Throughout the course, students will learn the various types of machining methods and the tools needed to make various parts, as well as the actual mechanical operation of the machines.

Advanced Manufacturing: CNC Milling Operator
The CNC Milling Operator course provides hands-on training in the setup, operation, and programming of CNC milling machines. Students will learn to interpret technical drawings, utilize CAD/CAM software, and produce precision parts to industry standards. This course is ideal for individuals seeking to enhance their skills in CNC machining for advanced manufacturing careers.

The National Institute for Metalworking Skills (NIMS) was formed in 1995 by the leading metalworking trade associations to develop and maintain a globally competitive American workforce. NIMS develops skills standards for the industry, certifies individual skills against the standards and accredits training programs that meet NIMS quality requirements.
NIMS operates under rigorous and highly disciplined processes as the only developer of American National Standards for the nation’s metalworking industry accredited by the American National Standards Institute (ANSI).
