Emergency Aid Grants for Students
COVID Relief Funds for Students Ended in December 2023 and are no longer available.
In addition to student emergency aid grants available under the laws passed by Congress – known as the CARES Act (HEERF I) (CRRSSA, HEERF II) and (ARP, HEERF III) – some students were eligible for an adjustment to their federal financial aid award under ARP’s Special Circumstances provision if they could document “special circumstances” that negatively affect their or their family’s financial situation. WCC distributed $20,337,145 dollars in emergency student aid through the Federal resources it has received from its Student Portion Award (P425E201126) and an additional $9,347,547 under Federal resources it received from its Institutional Portion Award (P425F202001).
Although these funds are no longer available, students may also be eligible for other federal, state and scholarship aid to help fund the cost of their education. Click the links below to learn more

Institutional and Minority Serving Institutional Aid
In addition to receiving federal funds for Student Emergency Aid, WCC also received an Institutional and Minority Serving Institutions/Hispanic Serving Institutions grants as part of CARES, CRRSAA, and ARP. These grants could be used to address a range of campus and student needs related to COVID disruption, including additional student emergency aid awards, providing additional student services, such as mental health, supporting online instruction, and ensuring a safe and healthy campus. WCC has received $27,885,167 under its federal Institutional Portion grants, and $2,680,043 under its Minority Serving-Hispanic Serving Institutions grants.
