Get Through In Two!
Westchester Community College has been selected to participate in the SUNY Pathways Scholars Award program. This program is designed for high performing students who are committed to completing their associate and bachelor’s degrees in two and four years, respectively.
Student Benefits
Pathways Scholars will receive:
- $500 award during their first year ($250 at the start of semester one and, if they remain in good standing, an additional $250 award at the start of semester two)
- $1000 award upon completion of their associate degree and enrollment in a SUNY bachelor’s degree program
- Academic counseling
- Career guidance
- Wrap-around support services
- Access to honors courses (minimum 3.5 GPA required)
To qualify, students must:
- Graduate from a NYS high school with an average of at least 80%
- Enroll for the first time as a full-time student in an associate degree program at a SUNY community college or college of technology
Pathways Scholars must:
- Meet academic requirements needed to graduate from WCC within two years
- Continue, upon graduation, their studies at a SUNY four-year institution in pursuit of a bachelor’s degree
- Meet with a Student Success Advisor once a month to track academic progress and meet with their major-based advisor each semester
- Attend transfer/career planning sessions each semester
- Review any early alerts and respond to outreach in a timely manner
- Participate in tutoring sessions if their GPA falls below 2.0
- Register for classes early to ensure they are able to meet curriculum requirements
- Contact their advisor before changing their course schedule or degree program
