Criminal Justice & Paralegal
Welcome to the Professional Careers Department of the School of Business and Professional Careers at Westchester Community College. We are a new department, created in the Fall of 2016 as part of a wholesale restructuring of the college’s academic programs and schools. The Professional Careers Department has many diverse academic programs, including seven degree programs and three certificate programs. The Department offers seven Associate of Applied Science (AAS) degrees in Chemical Dependency Counseling, Criminal Justice – Police, Criminal Justice – Corrections, Fashion Design and Technology, Fashion Merchandising, Human Services – Pre-Social Work, and Paralegal. Our certificate programs include Direct Care Practice, Chemical Dependency Counseling, and Paralegal.
Our ten full-time professors, along with over forty adjunct instructors are here to help you build a foundation of knowledge and skills in many course areas. We have designed our curriculums to meet general education course requirements, offer opportunities to learn theories and develop expertise relevant to specific career fields and provide clear pathways for transfer and employment opportunities upon graduation.
