Professor Bill Winters has been at Westchester Community College since 1974. He started as the head of the Video Services Department and later took over the Media Services Department as well. Professor Winters wrote and introduced the original sylabbi for TV Production 1 & 2, Radio Production and Announcing. He was a member of the committees that originally formed the Communications Curriculum and Communications Department. He has been teaching full-time in the Communications Department since 1992. Bill graduated from Westchester Community College and NYU and spent a decade working with the WMCA Good Guys, a top radio station in New York in the 1960s and 70s. While at WMCA he worked with many radio legends including Murray the K, Barry Gray, Long John Nebel, Joe O’Brien and John Sterling.
Professor is a avid record collector. His present collection numbers about 15,000. He also enjoys trains (both the real ones and model railroading). One of his favorite leisure activities is going to the movies. His son Billy is a cinematographer who also graduated from Westchester Community College and NYU. Professor Winters and his wife Dolly have been living in Valhalla since 1971.

Institution Service or Academic Service: Prof. Winters serves as the Communications Department DC Chair, and has been the Faculty Advisor to WARY-FM for over 40 years.
