Please note that the Westchester Community College Nursing Program is highly competitive and selective. Successfully meeting the requirements does not guarantee admission.
To apply to Westchester Community College, applicants must:
- Must be a high school graduate or possess a GED Certificate
- New applicants must complete and submit an online admissions application – www.sunywcc.edu/apply
- Submit official high school transcript to the Office of Admissions – HSTranscript@sunywcc.edu
- Submit official college transcript to Registrar’s Office – Etrans@sunywcc.edu
- Meet with an academic counselor for advisement – www.sunywcc.edu/getadvised
To qualify to take the TEAS exam, the applicant must
Note: Applications for the TEAS become available in February and September, for fall and spring admission.
- Attend a Nursing Information Session – www.sunywcc.edu – Click Events on the website for schedule
- Admission to the program is highly competitive and selective. Applicants must meet certain prerequisite requirements to take the required Test for Essential Academic Skills (TEAS) exam.
- Complete and submit the Nursing (TEAS) Application with required documents
- Take the scheduled TEAS Exam
- Admission is based only on the applicants TEAS score.

Prior to applying to take the TEAS exam, applicants must have completed the following prerequisite coursework with:
- High School or College Level Biology and Chemistry (Please Note: High School Biology and Chemistry cannot be more than ten years from the start of the program)
- Admission to the program is granted to the top scores from those who have taken the TEAS exam. Please Note: Information essential to apply and increase the opportunity to be accepted to the program will be discussed in the Nursing Information Session.
