CARE Team www.sunywcc.edu/careteam Community Members who observe behaviors exhibited by students that may indicate a potential threat of harm to self or others are strongly encouraged to reach out to the Community Assessment & Risk Evaluation (CARE) Team for support. It is the team’s objective to address reports concerning student behavior or thoughts before they become larger issues for the community and its members. The CARE Team works toward early identification and assessment of behavior that may put the well-being of the individual or the greater community at risk. While there is no single set of warning signs that will reliably predict harm or campus violence, the CARE Team conducts a comprehensive assessment to look for behavioral evidence that someone is planning or preparing to act out inappropriately or carry out some type of threat. If appropriate, the CARE Team will intervene or partner with the community to recommend interventions that help ensure the likelihood of a positive and safe resolution. Students can submit a report by emailing CARETeam@sunywcc.edu or visiting www.sunywcc.edu/incidentreport and clicking on the Student of Concern Reporting Form link. Anonymous reports are accepted. The CARE Team does not respond to emergencies. If you need IMMEDIATE ASSISTANCE call Campus Security directly at 6-911 from any campus phone or (914) 606-6911.
