Voter Registration www.sunywcc.edu/vote Westchester Community College has been designated as a Voter Friendly Campus by the Campus Vote Project. The College is committed to promoting student civic and electoral engagement. There are a variety of voter registration drives held throughout the year as well as efforts to engage students in the democratic process. Voter registration forms can be found in the Disabilities Office (LIB-G51) and in the Student Involvement Office (Student Center, room 108). Westchester Events Board (WEB) www.sunywcc.edu/web The Westchester Events Board (WEB) is the college’s award-winning, student run organization that plans, executes, and promotes major student events on campus. These events range in variety, but include such things as: comedians, game shows, coffee popups, open mic nights, trips, family events, talent competitions, first-run movie showings, and much more! This group receives an allocation of the student activity fee to offer all of their events free of admission to the student body! Any student can join WEB and help bring excitement and community building to Westchester Community College! Workforce Development & Community Education www.sunywcc.edu/wdce Westchester Community College has the largest Continuing Education unit in the SUNY system. The Division of Workforce Development and Community Education offers a wide range of courses for adults, teens, children, and seniors. Classes are available: • to prepare students for new careers • to enable professionals to maintain and upgrade professional skills, and meet and maintain licensure requirements • to provide students with lifelong learning opportunities for pleasure or profit • to help non-native English speakers prepare for college and/or employment Our courses are intended for community members; some are geared to kids and teens while our Mainstream program offers classes geared towards older adults. Whether your goal is to explore a new activity, earn certification in your current field, or prepare for a new career, learn to speak English, or learn new skills for the workplace, you’ll find it all here at Westchester Community College! Work Study www.sunywcc.edu/workstudy The Federal Work-Study (FWS) program provides jobs for students who have additional need which cannot be met by grants or loans alone. Any student who is eligible for Federal Student Aid, has documented financial need, and checks the box on the FAFSA form for work study is qualified. Students can request and/or apply for work study funds any time during the academic year. Students must meet all federal financial aid eligibility requirements.
