Offered at SUNY Westchester’s Peekskill Center for the Digital Arts, it provides hands-on training with industry tools like Unity and Maya. Enhance your programming, modeling, design, and storytelling skills through expert mentorship, ultimately crafting professional portfolio. Program tuition is $1,752. The Illustration and 2D Animation Certificate program provides students with the fundamentals of illustration techniques and animation principals. Students will begin with foundations in illustration, sequential storytelling, character design and move into animation fundamentals. This program will utilize a variety of Adobe tools including Photoshop, After Effects, and Premiere. In addition, students will be taught illustration, painting, and animation techniques in Procreate and also gain experience in TV Paint. This program is designed to develop strong professional level skills in 206 hours and a portfolio piece for students to share with future employers. This program will take students through the 3D animation production pipeline and cover many aspects of 3D creation. From modeling assets and characters to animating and final rendering, this program will guide you through the fundamental principles of 3D animation. Whether you are interested in film, video games, or commercial work, these courses will get you on the right trajectory. The culminating experience will be the creation of a photography portfolio and exhibition to share with family, friends, and potential employers in order to continue on their personal and professional pathways. The Digital Photography Certificate will provide new and motivated photographers with a foundation in practice and theory with lab exercises, assignments, and lecture demonstrations. Students will learn about the proper operation of a camera and achieving correct exposure, composition methods, post processing, and specialized photography. Throughout the experience, students will draw inspiration from the works of historical and contemporary photography. Enhance your portfolio and hone your skills! The Advanced Digital Photography series is for students who are post certificate or have received instructor permission. Students will expand on their technical and storytelling capabilities with hands-on technical training. These courses are hybrid (remote and in-person): Photo-shoots will be both outdoors and onsite, taking advantage of the extensive resources and specialized facility at the Center for the Digital Arts. Software-based review sessions will be remote.
