In-Person Illustration & 2D Animation Certificate–206Hrs Illustration & 2D Animation Provides students with the fundamentals of illustration techniques and animation principles. Students will begin with foundations in illustration, sequential storytelling, and character design and move into animation fundamentals. This program will utilize a variety of Adobe tools including Photoshop, After Effects, and Premiere. In addition, students will be taught illustration, painting, and animation techniques in Procreate and also gain experience in TV Paint. This program is designed to develop strong professional level skills in 206 hours and a portfolio piece for students to share with future employers. Supply list available. Illustration & Animation with Procreate –12 Hrs This course will guide students with an interest in digital painting and animation from grasping the Procreate interface to mastering advanced techniques. Fundamentals of Animation 2–40Hrs Students will dive deeper into what brings animation to life adding to what they have learned from Animation 1.This coursewill havestudents investigate pre-productionanimation techniques such as layouts and backgrounds, character design and acting, sound and special effects. After earning his BFA in Cartooning & Illustration, David started his career as a storyboard artist for Google and Yahoo. While galleries around New York City and Westchester County have featured his work,he is most known for his illustrations for the "Wall of Legends" located at Memorial Field in Mount Vernon, New York. Currently, David works as a full-time artist for SalesOne, illustrating for Marvel, Lucas Film, Warner Bros., Nickelodeon, and more. He also teaches art, sharing knowledge of the field he is dedicated to and loves. David will be teaching Foundations of Illustration, Storyboarding: Drawing for Animation, Character Design: Building Worlds, and Comic Illustration. davidabrevaya.com @david_abrevaya Emmanuel Jaquez Reyes has been teaching both Digital Design and 2D Animation at the Center for the Digital Arts since 2017, using software such as Adobe Photoshop, Illustrator, InDesign, Blender (using Grease Pencil), and now, Procreate. Being a graduate of the School of Visual Arts (BFA, 2009), he has experience in both digital and traditional art aspects which allow him to feel right at home here at the center. Students in his classes will be able to explore their creativity and bring their thoughts to life.
