D Guilderson. #97853 IN-PERSON Mindfulness-Based Stress Reduction: 3 Week Intro This MBSR (Mindfulness-Based Stress Reduction) class is a 3 week introduction to Dr. Jon Kabat-Zinn’s original, longer MBSR program, and is taught by a Brown University-trained MBSR teacher. This training in mindfulness meditation and movement cultivates resilience, emotional/attentional regulation & reduction in pain, anxiety, depression, and hypertension. MBSR is the most well-studied of the mind-body medicine approaches, with abundant research at major institutions globally. We’ll explore: What is Mindfulness? How does mindfulness differ from how you may be living currently? Why practice? And what does the research show? The formal and informal practice in class and at home can begin to cultivate your own inherent ability to be mindful. Ample time is allowed for discussion and Q&A to develop greater understanding and clarity. You will leave with written and audio guidance to continue your journey beyond the class.
