Bright Futures: Student Profile
Isaac Tejeira
Academic Program: Engineering Science
When I was in the sixth grade, my family moved from Peru to Ossining, New York. The move proved extremely difficult for me and I struggled with a new language and a new culture. Academically, it was not until high school that I finally found my way and decided to focus on my studies and pursue my interest in art, technology, and design.
While in high school, I became the president of the Hispanic Club where we encouraged young Hispanic students to prepare themselves for a better future in the United States. This is precisely what I am doing as a student at Westchester Community College.
My passion to help other students resulted in the opportunity to become a Student Body Senator on the Student Government Association. I am also a member of the Phi Theta Kappa Honor Society. My goal is to continue to work hard to strive for a bright future. Ultimately, I would like to obtain degrees in Architecture and Engineering.
