Applied Learning Opportunities at Westchester Community College
Goals for the Center for Applied Learning and Career Education
The Center is supported, in part, by SUNY Performance Improvement Funds awarded to Westchester Community College for the enhancement of the following goals:
- Support guided pathways by providing career-based resources and curriculum to faculty and students during their first year of study
- Increase the quality and quantity of the student internship experience through the engagement of community partners
- Centralize the administration of Applied Learning activities on campus in the areas of internships, service learning, community service, civic engagement, entrepreneurship and research
Important Resources and Projects
The Ossining Health Advantage (OHA) An Initiative from the Center for Career Education & Applied Learning and the Division of Workforce Development & Community Education. OHA is a unique learning community at the Ossining Extension Center designed for new students interested in pursuing a health care focused degree program at Westchester Community College.
