Application Based Scholarships
SUNY WCC awards several program-specific scholarships that have specific criteria. We welcome you to apply for these scholarships for the upcoming academic year. Please note that criteria, application requirements, and deadlines may vary.

Completion Scholarship (Summer 2025)
Students enrolled in their last semester completing a degree with financial need who meet the following:
- Meet GPA minimum of 2.0
- Filed for Financial Aid: 2024-25 FAFSA, TAP, or the Scholarship Financial Need Application
Deadline: The application remains open and awarding is rolling until we have exhausted the funding available.
To be eligible for the scholarship, you must have your Academic Counselor, Student Navigator, or Faculty member submit this nomination form on your behalf.

New York State Office of Addiction Services and Supports (OASAS) Opioid Settlement Fund Addiction Professionals Scholarship Program
Incoming & Returning students who meet the following:
*Applicants must reside in New York; must be at least 18 years of age by the completion of the first semester in the program; and must have a minimum of a high school diploma or high school equivalency diploma.
Priority for this funding opportunity:
- Priority 1: Employees of agencies that operate OASAS-certified, funded, or otherwise authorized programs and OMH- and/or DOH-certified Integrated Outpatient Services (IOS-SUD), and DOH Drug User Health and/or Harm Reduction programs.
- Priority 2: Individuals providing addiction care (prevention, treatment, recovery, or harm reduction services in another eligible setting per CASAC work experience requirements).
- Priority 3: Individuals/Students interested in working in eligible OASAS/OMH/DOH settings.

Hirsch Family Endowed Scholarships
honor the legacy of Professor Lany Hirsch, who played a pivotal role in the establishment of WCC’s Academic Support Center. Awards recognize part- and full-time students who have overcome challenges and improved their academic standing by making use of the resources available through the Academic Support Center.
Description of award:
The Hirsch Family Scholarship is awarded annually to continuing students at Westchester Community College who have overcome obstacles in their journey and have used the Academic Support Center to move toward their academic goals. The Hirsch Family Scholarship seeks to ease students’ academic journey by providing substantial awards of over $1000 to cover tuition, books, fees, and other expenses.
Scholarship recipients will have some delineated obligations, including earning at least a 2.5 GPA and writing a letter to thank the donors. They will also be required to maintain a relationship with the committee that promotes their scholarship.

Eligibility Criteria
- Must have used the Academic Support Center for a minimum of 10 hours in the Fall 2024-Spring 2025 school year
- Must plan to continue at Westchester Community College in the Fall 2025-Spring 2026 school year
- Complete application below
- Have appropriate financial aid forms on file (see below)
- Must have a faculty member submit a Hirsch Family Scholarship Faculty Recommendation form (https://forms.office.com/r/dXTSHDXxYp)
- Must have an overall GPA of 2.5 at the end of the Spring 2025 semester
Student Obligations of award
If you are offered the scholarship, you must submit a letter of thanks detailing the change this scholarship makes in your life to the donor. Your award will not be disbursed into your account until this is received. You may also be invited to participate in donor/student events.Application steps
